Venom 2 Movies (2020) Story 

Venom 2 is set to be one of this year's biggest hits as long as it arrives in October as originally planned.

Despite a critical drubbing, Sony's Venom was a huge box office success in 2018 as it grossed more than $850 million worldwide. Its cast were so confident about a sequel that they were talking about it before the first movie was even released.

Venom 2 was confirmed to be in the works in January 2019 with Kelly Marcel (one of the writers of the first movie) returning for the sequel, but director Ruben Fleischer wouldn't be back due to existing commitments.

Instead, the sequel will be directed by Andy Serkis, but what else do we know about the return of Tom Hardy's anti-hero . 

Venom 2 is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Venom, produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel. Distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, it is intended to be the second film in Sony's Marvel Universe and the sequel to Venom (2018). The film is being directed by Andy Serkis from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel, and stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock / Venom alongside Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, and Naomie Harris.

Plans for a sequel to Venom began during production on that film, with Harrelson cast to make a brief appearance as Cletus Kasady at the end of Venom with the intention of him playing the villain role in a potential sequel. Work began in January 2019, with Hardy and Harrelson confirmed to return along with Marcel as writer. Serkis was hired that August. Filming took place at Leavesden Studios in England from November 2019 to February 2020, with additional filming in San Francisco in February.
